Solicitation of a Prostitute

Charged with Solicitation?

Being caught soliciting a prostitute carries a number of unfortunate consequences — even if you are not convicted. You might find your mug shot on the Internet. Your spouse or boss may find out about the charge.

What should you do if you've been arrested? Contact me as soon as possible so we can minimize any damage to your reputation, and can begin planning your defense. I am a Chicago lawyer who focuses strictly on criminal defense and I can help you.

Criminal Defense Charges

In Illinois, a first time offense of soliciting for a prostitute is a class A misdemeanor. I have been successful in keeping this off a person's record by arranging for a diversionary program called sex school. Another option is to plead guilty and if you stay out of trouble and pay a fine, you can later have the record of your arrest expunged.

A multiple offense, or an offense within 1,000 feet of a school can get the charge bumped up to a class 4 felony. Your car can be impounded if the solicitation was from your car. I have been able to obtain release of my clients' cars in cases such as these.
